Full Time Program DetailsEnergy Systems Engineering Technology (Kingston)Become part of the exciting new field of energy efficiency and sustainable energy systems that is emerging as Canada confronts issues of increasing energy costs and the serious environmental impacts of conventional energy usage. Our Energy Systems Engineering Technician and Technologist graduates will fill the growing needs of employers in this rapidly expanding field. Your work will involve energy auditing and modeling of existing conventional heating and lighting systems and specifying energy efficiency improvements for residential and commercial buildings. You will also be trained in the sizing, specification and implementation of solar photovoltaic, solar thermal and other sustainable energy systems. New in the fall of 2005, this off-grid training facility offers a comprehensive selection of renewable energy equipment for hands-on training for students in solar thermal and photovoltaic, ground source heat pump, small wind, solar air heating, and other sustainable energy technologies.
